But I live for the weekend, and this weekend didn't disappoint! On Friday night, we had a pretty low key "date night." We went to Outback (typical) and were given a pager and told we'd have a 45 minute wait. The lobby was PACKED with people standing & waiting. In maybe 10-15 minutes, our pager buzzed and we were seated! Matt and I kind of gave each other funny looks (like, "Umm....did they seat us on accident?") but hey -- it must have been a Friday night miracle, right? It was my treat since Matty's birthday is in a few days (and he's working night shift on his bday). Then, we came home and played around with my 3 iPads!! I got one a few months ago because I'm grade level chair....and now every teacher at our school has 2 iPads for the students to use. I had fun finding apps that my kindergarteners will love. So excited to start using them!
On Saturday, we went to the NC State vs Duke basketball game. It. was. AWESOME. Of course, State won!! The students rushed the court afterwards and we had a great view so I took some cool pictures.
PS - GORGEOUS weather for January!
That night, we went to Matt's fire department banquet at Biaggi's. (He's a volunteer firefighter for a station near our house). The meal was pretty yummy and free! Hehe. We had a good time getting to know another firefighter and his fiance who actually live in our neighborhood. The best part was that we got to dress up for the occasion. I wore my new tunic, leggings, & my sexy ruffled boots. :) I also attempted an awkward self-portrait in the guest bedroom for your enjoyment. Don't mind the random home decor stuff behind me.
On Sunday, we had yet ANOTHER nice dinner at Carrabba's with Matt's parents (their treat for his birthday!). I have no pictures from this event because I was too busy stuffing my face with bread, salad with the most amazing parmesan dressing, chicken marsala, and green beans. Then, we made a quick stop to Wal-mart (HA! A trip to Wal-mart is never quick! You should've seen the line!) and came home to watch Country Strong from Netflix. I enjoyed it, but I couldn't stop wondering if that was Tim McGraw's real hair.....

I'm not even a state or duke fan (go Pirates!) but that game was amazing to watch, glad ya'll got to enjoy it in person!
ReplyDeletealso, I nominated you for the Liebster Award today on my blog :)
