- I made the best soup of my life this week. Recipe coming soon. I want Matt to try it to see if he agrees that it is amazing, but I kind of want to eat it all myself.
- Today my team had a "planning day" and we actually got to go out to a restaurant for a 1.5 hour lunch break. It felt so bizarre (& so fabulous) being out in the real world at lunch time on a weekday instead of attempting to use the bathroom/heat up my frozen Smart Ones meal/scarf down my lunch in 25 minutes before picking up the kids from the cafeteria.
- My husband informed me that some "escorts" (*wink wink*) make $1000 in one day!!!! They could work 2-3 days and earn as much money as a teacher earns in a month. I shared this information with my grade level at lunch today & we have all decided that will be our back-up plan. You know....for the day that we decide we can't handle teaching anymore. Just kidding. Sorta.
- Another teacher shared that she read somewhere that the inside of a banana peel whitens your teeth. She happens to eat a peanut butter & banana sandwich every.single.day for lunch, so we decided we'll all try it and see if it works.
- Yes. We're a crazy bunch. I don't know why you're surprised. Did you not read my post on Sunday?
- I discovered 3 new (to me) and HILARIOUS blogs lately. I seriously can't get enough. I read every single one of Love, Teach's blog posts (in backwards order) over the course of 2-3 days this week. I thought I had some good teaching stories but I literally cannot BELIEVE some of the things that have happened in her class. Erin from Living in Yellow cracks me up with her random posts. Apparently she makes pretty decent money from her blog & I wish I had the time or the desire to do that. But alas. I'll just keep writing sporadically and hoping for one non-spam comment per post. Big dreams, people. And Grace from Camp Patton is a stay-at-home-mom of 3 kids who tells it like it is. Her kids are a MESS and I don't even know how she finds the time to blog, but I'm so glad she does because she's hysterical.
- Last week, I decided I wanted to hook my sister up with a cute guy that I don't even know. I can't divulge all of the details but just know that this whole situation has been the most awkward & entertaining thing ever. We have laughed and laughed and LAUGHED over it. I hope they fall in love & get married and have beautiful babies one day. Then I can go down as the most fabulous matchmaker in history.
- So I applied & interviewed (via Skype) for an amazing part-time job opportunity in mid-February and I just heard this week that I wasn't chosen. WOMP WOMP. I think my schedule was a big factor. I mean....who teaches kindergarten full-time and attends grad school and wants a part-time job on top of that? Me, actually. I would've loved it & grad school is almost over {I see the light!} so I'll have a lot more free time. Everybody who knew about it said it was SO PERFECT for me. But all hope is not lost! Apparently I stood out in a very large pool of applicants and there is a good chance that another position will be available soon! Fingers crossed.
Well, peeps. That's about all I've got. I hope you had a fabulous week and TGI(almost)F! :)

can't wait to see that soup recipe! I LOVE soup, especially in the cold months.
ReplyDeleteOne really great thing about being retired is I can read your blog, learn things about Matt's crazy experiences (previous blog post), check out your blog-reading recommendations, try your recipes, and refer to your book lists when I spend the $85 in B&N gift card credit for my Nook!
